The Sad Tale of my Little Brother and the coming of Doom 2

Cracked up when doom 2 first came out, my younger bro was so excited, camped out to get it the whole deal.

He was a fanboy over it in every way—in a manly man, gamer person kind of way though, right? Right?

So he gets it home, gets it installed, it’s the dead of night, all the lights out except his monitor right?

The opening screen came up and the music started and he said it was like the epitome of heaven and the pits of hell came out of his computer, and the music was just “ahhhhhh!”

……and then it crashed his whole system.

*room goes dark, ambient, painfully slow sounds of system shutting down, then utter silence, heavy silence. A “the universe has murdered my computer and what the hell am I supposed to do now” kind of silence*

*lmaorofl*

It murdered his computer’s face.

The look on his face was just the height of happy to “you shot my puppy” in .02 seconds.

He had to build a whole new computer to run it.

It was a mutual but silent understanding for everyone involved that we would never speak of the “computer assassination incident” ever again.

I fear for my life.

Getting busier all the time

I've always loved being busy. I get antsy whenever things get too quiet, too easy and mellow. Don't get me wrong, I love relaxing, kicking back as much as the next person. But since I started my blogs, and a few months later my vlogs, and then my lets plays, along with the running, gardening, my homelife, my life is getting busier all the time, and I love it. 

      I started working with other people through my Youtube as I cross paths with people who share various interests of mine, and I have a few collaborations currently in the works. I created a playlist on my Youtube that links out to a few of them, and then I started a new playlist based on a new series I'm currently working on, teamed up with a new friend of mine and a fellow Youtuber. 

      By way of explanation, Deb invited me to team up with her in this season's minecraft hardcore, now in its sixth season, and as we started out, we find we're hitting it off great, and that we think along the same lines when it comes to surviving such a competition, and plotting out a gameplan on how we will survive the horrors our moderator intends to throw at us.

I had quite a few people asking me to play more of this game, including my two youngest stepsons. Part of me wonders if they don't just want to laugh at me being a total wuss and jumping at every little bitty jumpscare that pops up. What do you think?

another side of my youtube channel

At first, I thought I'd keep my blog and my youtube separate when it came to my let's plays, figuring my readers wouldn't be interested in any of my let's plays or whatever games I'm playing to entertain my youtube viewers, but then I realized some of my viewers have followed me here the way some of my readers followed me over to youtube. I thought I'd offer links to one of my let's plays here, so you guys could go check it out if you like, those of you who are into games and gaming and let's plays. I'm in the middle of this series now, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I hope it makes you laugh, if you do watch, and if you're having a bad day and are badly in need of a laugh, I hope it helps! If you're not into this sort of thing don't worry-- I'm still doing the rest of my writing alongside my let's plays. This is just another facet of my personality and just one of my newest hobbies.

Insomnia

I think the worst part about having insomnia is knowing the fact that you have only a few options left to you in the dead of night.... okay... a few that you won't REALLY regret when you wake up the next day *smirk*


You can sit up and watch television, going from infomercial to infomercial until you want to shove the t.v. out the window. (Actually, you WOULD regret that the next day)


You can read a book until you pass out over it, and wake up with your face mashed into a book the next day.


You can sit at your computer and play games until you can't keep your eyes open, then suffer the next day at work because "I just wanna get ten more points in majong, I swear"


You can lay on your back and stare up at the ceiling in the dark, watching the ceiling fan spin into oblivion and count the number of times car lights come in through your window as they pass, until you pass out from sheer BOREDOM.


Me? I've done all of em lol. Can't help it. I could get up early, work all day, then come home that night, hop on my treadmill and run forty miles, I'll still be up late, lying in bed counting car lights until I feel like I'm losing my mind and heading back to my computer to type out another twenty or thirty or forty more pages with bleary eyes.





What about everyone else? What do you do when sleep takes its sweet time in coming? Are you a counter? A reader? A gamer? Channel Surfer? Marathon show-watcher?


I'll admit it, I've tried them all.
