The Sad Tale of my Little Brother and the coming of Doom 2

Cracked up when doom 2 first came out, my younger bro was so excited, camped out to get it the whole deal.
He was a fanboy over it in every way—in a manly man, gamer person kind of way though, right? Right?
So he gets it home, gets it installed, it’s the dead of night, all the lights out except his monitor right?
The opening screen came up and the music started and he said it was like the epitome of heaven and the pits of hell came out of his computer, and the music was just “ahhhhhh!”
……and then it crashed his whole system.
*room goes dark, ambient, painfully slow sounds of system shutting down, then utter silence, heavy silence. A “the universe has murdered my computer and what the hell am I supposed to do now” kind of silence*
*lmaorofl*
It murdered his computer’s face.
The look on his face was just the height of happy to “you shot my puppy” in .02 seconds.
He had to build a whole new computer to run it.
It was a mutual but silent understanding for everyone involved that we would never speak of the “computer assassination incident” ever again.
I fear for my life.

Are you a twisted and sarcastic romantic like me?

Some days I find myself sitting at my keyboard, blog up, staring blankly at the screen, fingers poised but frozen at the keyboard.
It isn't a matter of not having anything to write-- nothing to say-- nothing rolling around causing all kinds of chaos in my head.
Sometimes it's a matter of knowing whether or not to share whatever happens to be going through my mind at the time.
For one, the matter of "appropriateness" comes into play. I have a sarcastic, sometimes twisted sense of humor, I' always loved horror movies and scary stories, and yet I've always been a hardcore romantic at heart.
We're talking a love of moonlight dances, shared sunsets, kissing in the rain when I'm not up to my eyeballs in horror movies and all things zombie related (And sometimes while I'm up to my eyeballs in horror movies and all things zombie related).
Throw together a combination like that and an overactive, unchecked imagination from hell, and you can get into all kinds of trouble if you're not careful.
Especially when it comes to branching out and introducing yourself to the world for the first time, and not knowing whether or not they'll get your humor.

ah the joys of laughing at yourself

So, I'm sitting at home, watching "the Woman in Black", with all the lights out, as per usual when I find myself subjecting myself to late-night horror movie marathons (Which is quite often, actually), and it gets to a scene where the main character is waiting for the scary ghost woman to come to him down the hallway. Very dark scene, lit only by cande light, the tension is very high, my house is dead quiet except for the light sounds of my hubby snoring from across the room. I'm on the edge of my seat biting my nails, eyes glued to the screen.... then suddenly the candles start going out on the screen, throwing the hallway little by little into darkness. Steadily, the darkness comes closer.. closer.. until it's close enough it can almost reach out and grab onto the main character with claw-like fingers. And then? My hubby's alarm clock starts screaming from down the hall. Yes, I admit it. I almost went through the ceiling. I swear I can hear the alarm clock laughing hysterically at me from down the hall.
